Bungee Workout
Plan and track the result of your Bungee.
Bungee is usually in the extreme sports category and is a sport that is viewed as only for daredevils. Bungee jumping has been in existence in some cultures as a rite of passage into manhood for the menfolk of those cultures. However, commercial bungee began in 1986 with a New Zealander who performed jumps off bridges and other structures, including the Eiffel tower.
Bungee is a game with a lot of potential dangers and has only been successful thus far because bungee operators conform to the strict standards and guidelines governing jumps. Some of those guidelines include double checking calculations and fittings for each jump. It is important that the cord is the right length as a too long cord can lead to fatalities.
After a jump, once the cord gets to its length the jumper either begins to slow down or keeps accelerating. This depends on the speed of descent though as sometimes, the jumper may not even begin to slow down until the cord has been sufficiently stretched.
A bungee jump can be done anywhere there is a tall structure but the jumper needs to be very careful about safety. The cord is the first point of reference in securing a jump as there are cords that are more dependable than the early elastic cords that were used earlier on. Although the elastic cord is still being used in many quarters, it is best to use a factory-produced braided shock cord that is made of several latex strands encased in a tough outer cover.
Another aspect to the bungee sport is the trampoline bungee which encompasses elements from bungee and trampoline. In bungee trampoline, the player starts on a trampoline and is fitted into a body harness attached through bungee cords to two high poles on either side of the trampoline. As the jumper jumps, the bungee cords tighten, allowing for a higher jump than would have been made from a trampoline alone.
Workout Nation for Bungee
Workout Nation supports the tracking of your bungee jumping activity. Bungee jumping is an activity that involves jumping from a tall structure, which could be a building or a mountain, while connected to a large elastic cord. Generally, the tall structure is usually stationary but bungee jumpers have been known to jump from a movable object such as a hot air balloon or helicopter. However, movable objects should have the ability to hover above the round. Bungee jumping gives and adrenaline rush as the jumper free-falls and then rebounds.
