Circuit Training Workout
Plan and track the result of your Circuit Training.
Circuit training is designed to be a fast paced exercise. You move from one activity to the next in a quick succession. Each exercise or station targets key areas, and then you move to the next station for the next area. This quick movement keeps you motivated and interested. Women particularly enjoy circuit training although men can develop a circuit that is specially designed to fit their sports fitness needs and desires.
When you have completed the entire selection of exercises you have completed on circuit and are ready to start on the first one again. Circuit training can provide both aerobic and anaerobic exercises in one experience. It will develop your strength and endurance while being engaging. If done in a club or a gym you also will be able to network or compete with workout friends.
A well designed circuit targets different areas of your body. For example you might go from arms to back to abs to legs to arms to back to abs to legs. For each one of those you have a different exercise or station. Most circuits have 9 to 12 stations although this is not an absolute rule. You will typically spend a minute to a minute and a half at each station and at each rest station until you have exercised for you chosen amount of time.
Depending on your creativity or, if you use a club, depending on their resources you may have more or less stations. You may be the one structuring your workout and can use a variety of techniques. You may choose to use pull ups, sit ups, step ups, shoulder presses, planks, burpees, exercise balls, rubber bands, or any other tool you have available.
When using a club you may find hydraulic stations, weights, exercise machines, or any other exercise tools available in a gym or club. Circuit training can easily be adapted to any fitness level and take you to the next level. Whether for health and fitness or sports fitness, circuit training can be adapted with the selection of stations.
