Diving Workout
Plan and track the result of your Diving.
Diving consists of standing on a springboard or a raised platform and falling or jumping into a body of water. Recreational diving can take place in almost any location and situation, but competitive diving is usually done from a 1m or 3m springboard or a platform and landing in a swimming/diving pool.
In competitive diving, there are accepted dives to choose. An appropriate number of dives for the meet must be selected by the time the event is announced. The requirements of the dives vary according to the specific diving competition. The dives need to be of a high enough difficulty to be competitive with the dives of the others in the meet. Yet, you can only know which dives you are capable of doing when you have worked out appropriately and keep a regular Workout Schedule.
While recreational diving is more about the freedom of flying through the air and landing in the water, competitive diving requires form and style for true Sport Fitness. There are five main positions for the body during the flight through the air and into the water. They are the pike, tuck, straight, free and flying positions. In the pike position, the knees are straight, but there is a sharp bend at the hips. The free position is used for twisting dives, and the flying position starts out straight and transitions into a tuck or a pike.
Diving relies heavily on strong leg muscles. However, every large muscle in the body is involved in a complex dive, from the foot to the neck. Diving takes a strong back and a great sense of balance. Having a Workout and Fitness Planner will help you set up times to work on these individual strengths and skills.
Traditional competition scoring is made up of scores for takeoff, flight and entry into the water. Workout Friends can dive with you to give you feedback on your performance, or just chat with you about the intricacies of the sport. You will improve your Health and Fitness with a solid diving regimen.
