Elliptical Workout
Plan and track the result of your Elliptical.
An elliptical/cross trainer machine is designed with the goal of imitating the natural movements of running. The pedals move in an elliptical path so that your feet and legs get the full range of motion they would ordinarily get anytime you run. That is one reason the elliptical is so excellent for improving your Health and Fitness.
An elliptical also offers resistance to improve the workout. The exercise is low impact because your feet do not move off and back on the pedals, so the joints and back are spared injury and discomfort. However, the resistance you get from an elliptical can both increase your workout intensity and improve your bone density. Monitor your results with the Workout and Fitness Tracker.
Elliptical workouts usually have a series of components. You will pedal forward for part of your workout and backward for another part of the program; each part exercises different muscles. If you workout using just the pedals and hold onto hand rails for support, you are working your legs most of all. This way, you can improve your Sport Fitness through use of the elliptical.
A different workout might be to let go of the hand grips for at least part of your workout. This can improve your balance and increase the toning impact on your core muscles as well. Work in special times to try new workout patterns with the Workout and Fitness Planner.
The length of time for your elliptical workout should increase as you improve your fitness level. It is fine to start out with as little as 10 minutes at a time if you are coming from a point of poor health and fitness. However, you should increase whenever the exercise begins to be less challenging. You can usually increase your workout by at least 3 minutes a couple of times a week.
When you have reached 40 minutes per day, you can work on getting a more intense workout by the exercises you choose. Plan your Workout Schedule to include increasing time for workouts. Compare notes with your Workout Friends to gain confidence and encouragement. An elliptical workout help you get fit and stay fit.
